24th April 2013, Washington (USA) – A SANDRA dedicated technical session has been held during the 13th annual Integrated Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (ICNS) Conference (https://i-cns.org). SANDRA partners have presented during the technical session chaired by Simon Plass from the German Aerospace Center, project topics related to IPv6 Networking, AeroMACS, ATN/OSI over Mobile IP and SANDRA test bed.
18th April 2013, Oberpfaffenhofen (Munich, Germany) – SANDRA project has achieved an important milestone, toward the flight trials, which will take place during June 2013. The airborne segment of innovative SANDRA communication system has undergone EMI electromagnetic interference tests which has been successfully passed.
A SANDRA user forum was held in Rome, Italy with a group of operational experts from “end user” organisations working in the technology fields targeted by SANDRA. These organizations include aircraft manufacturers, airlines, airports, Air Navigation Service Providers, suppliers of IT, radio and navigation systems and equipment, international organizations (e.g., EUROCONTROL, etc.).
The AeroMACS related activities within SANDRA & SESAR were presented at the ATM/ATC Global 2012 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
An overall presentation was given at a conference booth during the international Digital Avionics Systems Conference in Seattle, WA, USA.
2nd SANDRA Audit in Brussels, Belgium
The book Future Aeronautical Communications, edited by S. Plass was released as an open access book (free for download). The book contains 12 chapters by SANDRA partners on the project and also includes chapters by EUROCONTROL, NASA about AeroMACS and LDACS.
